Feast of the Cross in Zemun

The Feast of the Cross formally was celebrated in Zemun, where His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served the Divine Liturgy in St Nicholas church with the concelebration of His Grace Bishop Nikolaj of Alaska and many priests and deacons of the Archbishopric of Belgrade and Karlovac.

The Feast of the Cross is the Patron's Feast day of the Municipality of Zemun. Besides the president of the municipality Branislava Prostran and members of the city authorities, there were also representatives of the Army and Prince Vladimir and Princess Brigitte Karadjordjevic.

After the Divine Liturgy, lots of people who filled the church, churc courtyard and nearby streets, led by Serbian Patriarch and the priesthood, went in the procession through Main street until the Municipality of Zemun building in which then the slava cake was cut.
