Feast day of St. Sava II solemnly celebrated in Patriarchate of Pec

The feast day of St. Sava the Second, who was the son of king Stephen the First-Called - Predislav and the third Serbian archbishop, was solemnly celebrated in the Patriarchate of Pec on February 8/21 2012. The Divine Liturgy was served by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Lipljan, vicar of the Serbian Patriarch in the sidechapel of All Serbian Saints with the concelebration of protopresbyter Miroljub Marinkovic, syngellos Ignjatije Ilic and hieromonk Petar Decanac.

After the Liturgy the slava cake was cut in the church of Holy Salvation - known also as Holy Apostles - the Cathedral church of the Patriarchate of Pec, where between the sarcophagi of St. Arsenije and Patriarch Joanikije is the sarcophagus of St. Sava II. The feast day was enhanced by the Russian pilgrims who visited the monastery and participated in the liturgical celebration.
