Feast Day of Venerable mother Parascheva in Diocese of Vranje
On the occasion of the feast day of Venerable mother Parascheva - Saint Petka, His Grace Bishop Pahomije of Vranje served the Divine Liturgy in the church of St. Petka in the village of Ribarci, the municipality of Bosilegrad, with the concelebration of priests Zoran Stojadinov from Surdulica and parish of Bosilegrad, priest Zoran Stojanov and Michael Stancev and deacon Dusan Dzonic from Surdulica.
The church of St. Petka in the village of Ribarci was constructed in the first half of 19th century on the foundations of the old Church which was destroyed and burnt by the Turks, and ten years ago it was fully restored and enabled for the Service. This Church is one of the most visited on the territory of the municipality of Bosilegrad and many families celebrate St. Petka as their slava.
Believers gathered in the church since the early morning, so the church was in the time of the Divine Liturgy was fullfilled with more than five hundred believers. After the Liturgy there was a procession around the church. Following the procession, Bishop Pahomije cut the slava cake and talked with the people and gave crosses and icons as gifts.
