The feast of the Meeting of our Lord solemnly celebrated in Novi Sad

On Wednesday, 15 February 2017, on the feast-day of the Meeting of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the Temple, His Eminence Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral church of Greatmartyr St. George in Novi Sad.

His Eminence was concelebrated by Bishop Irinej of Novi Sad and Backa and Bishop Sergije of Frankfurt and All Germany, archimandrite Dionisios Kalambokas, protopresbyter-staurophors: Milivoje Mijatov, diocesan dean of Novi Sad; Milos Vesin, parish priest of South Chicago and Lensing; and DusanKolundzic; protopresbyters: ZeljkoTesic, principal of the church of Sts. Cosma and Damian at Futog; Zeljko Latinovic, head of the Holy Dormition church in Novi Sad; protopresbyter  Branislav Mrkic, diocesan dean of Novi Sad the Second; presbyter Tomislav Zivkovic, parish priest at Parage; presbyter Aleksandar Ignjatov, parish priest of Saint Sava church in Novi Sad, presbyter Leo Malesevic, parish priest of Kac; priests of the Cathedral church and deacons of Novi Sad.

The guests on the Holy Lityrgy were archimandrite Dionisios Kalambokas, abbot of the Petra monastery from the Greek Metropolis of Thesaliotis and Phanariopharsalion and their spiritual children. Archimandrite Dionisios is visiting the Diocese of Backa along with his spiritual children, monks and nuns, who mainly do not come from traditional Orthodox countries but from Germany, Norway, Netherlands, Switzerland, Slovenia and Israel.
