On 24th March 2013, the Sunday of Orthodoxy, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, officiated at Matins and conducted the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Alexandria, concelebrating with His Eminence Gabriel Metropolitan of Leontopolis, Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria.

Prior to the dismissal of the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy, the procession of the holy icons took place within the church, together with the usual memorial prayers for the repose of the souls of the late Chairmen, Great Benefactors and Members of the Hellenic Community of Alexandria.

 In the evening of the same day His Beatitude the Patriarch officiated during Great Vespers at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Alexandria which celebrating its Feast Day. His Beatitude was accompanied by His Eminence Gabriel, Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria.

On 25th March 2013, the Feast Day of the Theotokos, and following the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude led the Doxology for National Day, during which His Excellency the Ambassador for Greece in Egypt Mr. Christodoulos Lazaris, arrived, as did the Honourable Consul General of Greece in Alexandria Mr. Christos Kapodistrias, the President of the Council of Hellenes Abroad Mr. Stephanos Tamvakis, the Chairman of the Hellenic Community of Alexandria  Mr. Ioannis Siokas, Chairmen of Hellenic Societies and Associations, teachers and pupils of the Hellenic Schools of the Great City and many faithful.

Prior to the end of the Doxology and the a Memorial Prayers for those who fell for Faith and Country, His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Lazaris, read the message of the President of the Hellenic republic Mr Karolos Papoulias to Hellenes Abroad.
