The feast-day of Ven. Mother Angelina of Syrmium solemnly celebrated

Serbian Patriarch Irinej officiated the Hierarchal Liturgy with concelebration of several Serbian Hierarchs. - A special guest from the Polish Orthodox Church – Archbishop Abel of Lublin concelebrated as well. – Several thousands of faithful participated in the solemnities.

Monastery Krusedol, Srem, 12.8.2016. – At the invitation of the  competent Bishop of Srem Vasilije, His Holiness Serbian Patriarh Irinej celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Monastery Krusedol, where the relics of the Venerable Mother Angelina rest. Several abbots and archimandrites of leading Srem monasteries celebrated in the Liturgy and Prof. Jovan Petkovic, Principal of the famous Karlovcy Theological Seminary was with them as well.

The church choir St. Nicholas Velimirovic from Nova Pazova under guidance of Tamara Pajdic sang the responses.

At the close of the Liturgy Bishop of Srem Vasilije addressed the pious gathering. The President of the Matica Srpska Board Dr. Dragan Stanic delivered a festive oration, concluding that the Mother Angelina with her hand even at our own times shows us the way into the future.

The event was broadcasted by several radio stations as well as by the special Religious Program of the RTV Vojvodina from Novi Sad.

This liturgical event was attended by representatives of Police, Army, as well as by majors of several Srem city municipalities. Dr. Mileta Radojevic with his associate Dr. Marko Nikolic form the Office for Churches and Religious Communities at the Ministry of Justice of Serbia was among the esteemed guests.

There were representatives of the First Brigade of the Land Forces with the military chaplain Lieutenant Preadrag Dokic as well as many other personalities from the public and cultural life of this country.

After the solemn Liturgy a special cultural-artistic program was organized for the public.
