Festal celebrations for the 27th anniversary since the enthronement of Archbishop Anastasios

With the participation of six Archpriests, many priests and a crowd of people, the 27th anniversary of the enthronement of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Albania was celebrated on Friday, August 2, at the Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral of Tirana. 

This event is a starting point for the rebuilding, rebirth and reestablishment of the Church in the neighboring country.

Archbishop Anastasios presided the Divine Liturgy, assisted by Metropolitan Ioannis of Korce, Metropolitan Demetrios of Gjirokastra, Metropolitan Nikolaos of Apollonia and Fieri, Metropolitan Antonios of Elbasan, Metropolitan Nathaniel of Amadiya (Amadia) and Bishop Astios of Vilida.

On behalf of the Holy Synod, the clergyman and the faithful, Metropolitan Ioannis of Korce in his address, expressed his gratitude to the Archbishop for all the important missionary and pastoral work for the Church of Albania for 27 years, which is flowering and fruiting and reforming.

From his part, Archbishop Anastasios thanked everyone for their love and recalled moving events from his early years in Albania.

Last but not least, after the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Anastasios received the most heartfelt greetings of all the participants.
