Floor Mosaics in the Church of Nativity of Christ in Bethlehem and in an early Christian object in Skelani are identical

A little border place Skelani on the left bank of the Drina in a municipality of Srebrenica, in the Republic of Srpska, is again in the focus of attention of archaeologists and historians. The historical treasure which was considered lost forever, after more than hundred years is again in the light of day. It's about the discovery that the floor mosaics in the Church of the Nativity of Christ in Bethlehem and in an early Christian object in Skelani are identical.

„While recent work visit to Izrael and Palestine I became convinced that ancient builders of the Church of the Nativity of Christ in Izrael's Bethlehem participated also in the construction of the similar early Christian object in Skelani", said acting director of the Museum of Archelogy " Roman Municipium" in Skelani Dragic Glisic. He reminded that history professor from Bajina Basta Vladimir Djuric in 1960s of the past century was the first one who discovered Roman mosaics.
