Georgian Patriarch Ilia meets delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church
Heads of two Sister Churches meet in Tbilisi
His Holiness Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia has organized today an audience for all delegations of the Local Orthodox Churches that have arrived and which are going to participate in the ceremonies planned for January 13th.
Serbian Patriarch Irinej and Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and other high guests visited the Simon Janashia Museum, as well as the National Art museum in which they had a unique opportunity to learn about rich artistic heritage of this sister country and Sister Church. Since iconoclastic heresy has never been in this region, there are many ancient icons of the utmost importance preserved.
Also today a visit to President of Georgia, Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili is planned, as well as a formal dinner for the delegates, after the audience.
