‘Harp of Angels’ Pan-Orthodox Christian Christmas Gathering Held in Abu Dhabi
The Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (OCYM) of the St George Indian Orthodox Malankara Cathedral – Abu Dhabi hosted ‘Harp of Angels’ Pan-Orthodox Christian gathering on 27/11/15. The event was held at the St George Indian Orthodox Cathedral in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of United Arab Emirates.
Her Excellency Riitta Swan honourable Ambassador of Final to the United Arab Emirates was the chief guest for the evening. His Grace Metropolitan Mar Elias of Brahmavar presided. Delegations from Coptic, Russian, Indian, Ethiopian, Eritrean and Armenian Orthodox Churches participated in the event.
Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (Pan-Orthodox Christian Society) was represented by Prakash Varghese (Delegate of UAE, Gulf and Levant), Monu John (Special Envoy of the OCP Secretariat) and Nisha Jacob (OCP Associate). Prakash congratulated OCYM and the Cathedral community for organizing the unique Pan-Orthodox gathering. On behalf of the OCP family, Prakash and Monu presented Metropolitan Mar Elias of Brahmavar with the trio icon commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the 50th anniversary of the holy Adds Ababa Conference and the 51st anniversary of the Joint Commission for the Theological Dialogue between Eastern Orthodox Churches and Oriental Orthodox Churches. The Cathedral community was presented with OCP Icon of St Gregorious of Parumala.
Musical and cultural programs were performed by various Orthodox representations. Chief Guest and participants were presented with special mementos.
‘Harp of Angles’ is the second Pan-Orthodox event organized by the OCYM of Abu Dhabi Indian Orthodox Cathedral. The first event ‘En-Christos’ was held in the year 2012.
