Hierarchal Liturgy in the Chapel of the Resurrection of Christ in the District Prison in Belgrade

On 3 October 2016, marking the second anniversary of the liturgical life of the chapel of the Resurrection of Christ in the District Prison in Belgrade, with the blessing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Hierarchal Liturgy was officiated by His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Toplica. Local priests concelebrated to the Bishop.

Students of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology and pupils of the Saint Sava Seminary in Belgrade sang responses.

Besides representatives of the Board for Execution of Penal Sanctions of the Ministry of Justice, some staff of the prison, also representatives of some Church institutions involved in the work of the chapel and the faithful who had been committed to its function attended the service.

Spiritual life which of this chapel in the District Prison has been facilitated thanks to the cooperation of many Church institutions, such as Religious Charity Board, Missionary Center Danilo Sisojev, newspaper “Pravoslavie”, Archdiocesan Radio Slovo Ljubve, as well as of professors at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade, Predrag Dragutinovic and Vladan Tatalovic, who organize biblical workshops for prisoners held under supervision of this chapel.
