Hierarchal Liturgy in Peroj
On Saturday, 22 July 2017, on the feast day of Saint Martyr Pancras, Saint Theodor and Holy Martyrs of Glamok and Kulenvakuf, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was celebrated at the church of Saint Spyridon the Wonderworker in Peroj. His Grace Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac officiated the Liturgical gathering with the concelebration of Archimandrite Naum, Archimandrite Danilo, presbyter Milan Eric, parish of Pecuj (Diocese of Budim); presbyter Jovan Galamic and deacon Budimir Kokotovic.
Following the Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Gerasim held a sermon and congratulated the gathered faithful the feast day, and especially a great jubilee which was celebrated that day in Peroj – the 360th anniversary since the arrival of Montenegrins to Peroj in 1657. Since that the community of Montenegrins in Peroj have kept its national and cultural identity and Orthodox faith in the area where they have been for centuries, Bishop Gerasim wished them to persist on that path.
