Hillary Clinton in Gracanica Monastery
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today as a part of the visit to the region visited the Gracanica monastery. With the blessing of the Hierarch in charge, the Locum Tenens of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren, Metropolitan Amfilohije, Mrs. Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dell, chief of the US office in Prishtina, were welcomed in the Gracanica Monastery by Vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan.
During twenty-minutes-long visit to the monastery Hillary Clinton visited the church of Grachanica accompanied by Bishop Teodosije and hieromonk Andrej (Sajc). Bishop Teodosije pointed out to her that the Serbian people needed help particularly speakin of the return of the displaced, as well as the protection of the Serbian Orthodox sanctuaries and their identity. The US Secretary of State promised wholehearted support of the US government, and also said that one of the most important goals of her visit was to point out the importance of the Serbian spiritual heritage in Kosovo and Metohija that need to be preserved for the future.
Bishop Teodosije today met in a farewell visit the former chief of teh EULEX, Yves de Kermabon with whom he talked about the safety improvement for the Serbian people and sanctuaries in Kosovo and Metohija.
