Consecration of Bishop Electus Kiril of Dioclea
The consecration of Archimandrite MSc Kiril Bojovic, Bishop Electus of Dioclea, will be performed at the Cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica on Sunday, July 31st, 2016.
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, will officiate the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy together with many Hierarchs of the Serbian Church beginning at 8 a.m. The rite of proclamation will be performed also at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ on the previous day, Saturday of July 30th, 2016 at 7 p.m.
Archimandrite Kiril Bojovic – Biography
Kiril (in the world Milan) Bojovic was born in Podgorica on February 4th, 1969. He completed primary and secondary school at Danilovgrad. After the army service, he enrolled the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in 1988, which he completed in 1992. From 1993 until 2000 he worked as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Natural History and Mathematics in Podgorica.
The Bishop Electus completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Belgrade. In 2000 he left his secular job and with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije he became a novice of the Cetinje monastery. He took monastic name Kiril after Holy Cyril the Slav. The same year he was ordained hierodeacon. With the blessing of Metropolitan Amfilohije he enrolled the Moscow Theological Academy in 2005.
On 21 May 2006 Metropolitan Amfilohije ordained him as hieromonk.
In 2008 he graduated at the Moscow Theological Academy. Since January 1st, 2009, upon the decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the SOC, he worked as teacher of the Theological Seminary of Saint Peter of Cetinje at Cetinje, where he taught the New Testament.
Since the feast-day of St. Peter 2008, he was the editor-in- chief of the magazine “Svetigora” of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral as well.
On January 3rd, 2010, Metropolitan Amfilohije promoted him as protosyncellos.
Upon the blessing of Metropolitan Amfilohije, he decided to continue his education at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of the Belgrade University.
On June 30th, 2013, on the feast-day of All Saints, during the consecration of the crypt of the Cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica, Metropolitan Amfilohije promoted him as archimandrite.
By the decision of Bishop-Administrator of the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central America, Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, he became Bishop’s deputy in the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South Central American.
