His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon blesses memorial plaque honouring the 220th anniversary of the Russian Orthodox Mission in America

On 21 July 2013, the feast day of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada officiated at the Divine Liturgy in the Church of St. Catherine the Great Martyr in the Fields, Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church in America.

Concelebrating were Archbishop Mark of Yegorievsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Administration for Institutions Abroad; Bishop Alexander of Toledo; Bishop Kliment of Krasnoslobodsk and Temnikov; archimandrite Alexander (Pihach), representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, and other clergymen.

After prayer before the ambo, His Beatitude Tikhon addressed the worshippers, thanking them for common prayers offered on the feast day.

Archimandrite Alexander (Pihach) welcomed the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, thanked him for the visit and asked him to pray for the parish.

At the entrance to the winter church, His Beatitude Tikhon unveiled and blessed the memorial plaque honouring the 220th anniversary of the Russian Orthodox mission in the American land.
