His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia arrives in Belgrade
His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia arrived with the official delegation to Belgrade on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan.
At the runway of the airport Russian Patriarch was welcomed by His Grace Dr Irinej of Backa, while at the VIP salon the high guest was greeted by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexander Chepurkin and Minister of Transport in the Government of Serbia Aleksandar Antic.
Patriarch Kirill was accompanied by Metropolitans Hilarion of Volokolamsk and Sergey of Solnechgorsky, protopresbyters: Nikolay Balashov, Andrey Milkin and Igor Jakimchuk, deacon Alexander Volkov and other dignitaries.
Also the Primate of the Russian Church was welcomed by children dressed in Serbian national costume with bread and salt, and also giving him a bouquet of flowers. At the hall of the airport His Holiness Patriarch Kirill was welcomed by a row of priesthood of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac. Their Graces Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren, Irinej of Australia and New Zealand, Porfirije of Jegar, Antonije of Moravica, protopresbyter Vitaly Tarasyev, the head of the Representation of the Moscow Patriarchate in Belgrade, and also Dr. Mileta Radojevic, Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and religious communities. The press conference was held at the building of the airport.
