Today, 20 October 2011, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, met in the “Saint Ioan Casian” room of the Patriarchal palace, a group of university professors from the country and abroad, who will participate these days in the International Colloquy entitled “Influence of Christianity in Contemporary Europe in Compared Perspective: France, Romania and Switzerland”. The event is organised by the “Society, Law, Religion” Centre of Studies and Documentation of the “Patriarch Justinian” Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Bucharest.

Mr. Laurenţiu Tănase, Director of the SLR Centre of Studies and Documentation provided more information for Trinitas TV station: “I am very honoured by the fact that His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel manifested special interest to meet our guests whom I invited from France and that it was a pleasure for him to discuss not so much on protocol themes. He also liked to remember the time when he studied in Strasbourg when some of the professors of the Faculty of Theology, in charge today with the preparation of the theological students, studied, in their turn, in Strasbourg”.

The Congress is organised in collaboration with the “Centre of Sociology of Religion and Social Ethics” within the Faculty of Protestant Theology of Bucharest.
