ISIS graffiti on the monastery of Dechani
On the property of the monastery of Dechani several graffiti of UCK, AKS, ISIS, " The Caliphate is coming" as well as two inscriptions which look like Arabian script showed up.
The nearest graffiti are on the garden shed, about 300 meters east of the Dechani church. After noticing the graffiti, monks informed the Kosovo police and KFOR, who began to investigate right away. While abbot of the monastery of Dechani was talking with the local KFOR commander Colonel Minelli and the chief of the Kosovo police in Dechani during the inspection, a group of young Albanians from the local road (100 m away) began chanting UCK. The police detained three young men because of their provocative behaviour. It is assumed that unknown individuals wrote graffiti in the course of the last night by entering the property of the monastery at the place where it is not fenced.
In May of this year the UCK graffiti were writen on one of the gates of the monastery and this is the first incident which has happened in the meantime although KFOR strenghtened the security measures around the monastery. The Dechani Monastery is one of four objects of the SOC which is under KFOR protection at the moment.
