Iustinian's seals found in Iustiniana Prima

At the archaeological site Iustiniana Prima, near Leskovac, two seals of Emperor Iustinian (527-565) were found.

The chief of the archeological team at the Iustiniana Prima site, Vujadin Ivanisevic said that the seals were found during summer's excavation at Acropolis, the place where was the seat of the Archbishopric in Iustiniana Prima. This great discovery is one additional evidence that Iustiniana Prima was a birthplace of Iustinian.

Iustiniana Prima was built in VI century on today's teritory of the municipality of Lebane and "existed" more than 70 years because the Slav tribes destroyed it while settling these areas.
