His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, visited yesterday the ancient monastery at Bodbe and one of the greatest shrines of the Orthodox Georgia – the monastery of Saint Nino, where her wonderworking relics are being kept.

Patriarch was solemnly welcomed at the courtyard of the monastery and then he celebrated the moleben. Serbian Patriarch addressed the gathered expressing his sincere joy for the opportunity to visit this magnificent shrine especially because his mother, upon her tonsure into the monastic rank, had received name Nina.

The monastery of Saint Nino was founded in the ninth century and is the seat of the bishops of Bodbe.
