Meeting devoted to Patriarch Iliya II of Georgia at St Tikhon’s Orthodox University
On November 24, 2015, the presentation of the book ‘A Servant of God’ devoted to the life and work of His Holiness Iliya II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, took place at the St. Tikhon Orthodox University of the Humanities (STOUH). It was a follow-up of the presentation of this book which took place on October 16 in Tbilisi.
The meeting was opened by the University’s Rector Archpriest Vladimir Vorobyev who spoke about the history of this book, his meetings with His Holiness Iliya II, and traditionally friendly relations between the University and educational institutions in Georgia. Metropolitan Stephan of Cageris and Lentehi (Patriarchate of Georgia) highlighted the spiritual importance of the achievements of the Primate of the Georgian Orthodox Church. Archpriest Feodor Krechetov and Archimandrite Mirian (Shengelia) shared their memories of their meetings and service with His Holiness. Archpriest Vladimir Alexandrov greeted the meeting on behalf of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations.
The participants saw a film about the Primate of the Georgian Church and a video-recording of one of his recent interviews.
The presentation of the book ‘A Servant of God’ was organized by the STOUH-Georgia Russian-Georgian Club.
