The Meeting of the Lord at Orasac

The feast day of the Meeting of the Lord – Statehood  Day of the Republic of Serbia also this year was solemnly celebrated аt historic Orasac.

The celebration of this great feast day of the Church of Christ began with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy celebrated by Bishop Jovan of Sumadia with the concelebration of episcopal deans of Orasac and Topola and its clergy. Attending the Holy Liturgy there were Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic and Princess Katherine, Mr. Velimir Ilic, Minister of Construction and Urbanism, Mr. Bojan Radovic, president of the Municipality of Mladenovac, as well as other personalities.

Following the Holy Liturgy the Bishop cut the slava cake and then he held a memorial service for repose of the souls of all those who gave their lives for the freedom of the Serbian people.

After the memorial service, wreaths were laid at the memorial by the Royal family and local politicians. Professor Dr. Oliver Antic laid a wreath on behalf of Mr Tomislav Nikolic, the President of the Republic of Serbia.
