Memorial service for innocent victims of the NATO bombing in Murina, Montenegro

On the occasion of the annual memorial of the NATO bombing in Murina in 1999, where six residents of that small town were killed, presbyter Bojan Radunovic, parish priest of the Upper Lim and Gusinja , officiated the Holy Liturgy on 30th April 2020 at the church of Venerable Mother Parasceva the Serb in Murina, Montenegro.

After the Holy Liturgy, the memorial service was officiated for the victims of flagitious NATO aggression. Among these victims there were three children: Miroslav Knezevic (1985), Olivera Maksimovic (1986), Julija Brudar (1989), Vukic Vuletic (1953), Milka Kocanovic (1930) and Manojlo Komatina (1927).

The bombing of Murina on 30th April 1999 was one of the gravest crimes during NATO aggression against FR Yugoslavia. The NATO aviation with ten missiles bombed a bridge on the river Lim, located in the centre of the settlement. Innocent civilians who were not paticipants in the war actions were killed. Zeljko Bjelanovic, Svetlana Zecevic and Tina Milovic were seriously injured in the attack, and Mirko Soskic, Danilo Jokic, Vasko Cejovic, Slobodan Mirosavljevic and Slavko Mirkovic were slightly injured.

Due to the current situation and the prescribed epidemiological measures, due to the epidemic of the corona virus, His Grace Joanikije ,Bishop of Budimlje and Niksic, was not able to officiate the Holy Liturgy and the Memorial service this year. He has been scheduled to officiate the Memorial service for the victims of the NATO bombing in Murina on Memorial Saturday, on 6th June 2020.

The priest, Bojan Radunovic, on this occasion also prayed for the repose of the souls of the newly reposed servants of God, the protopresbyters Momcilo Krivokapic and Dusan Kolundzic.
