Metropolitan Amfilohije and Bishop Kiril on an archpastoral visit in Latin America
The hierarchs of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and His Vicar Bishop Kiril of Dioclea have been in Latin America since 23 November 2016. - Reception by the Mayor of Resistencia, province Chaco, in Argentina, Mr. Jorge Kapitanich.
During this meeting a contract was signed concerning the grant of a plot for erection of the centre of the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central America.
The Church dignitaries indicated that just in that place a new parish centre will be erected. The location consists of a thousand of square meters. Vice-secretary for urbanization of that city, Mrs. Melia Canteros, clarified that the Church may perform cultural and social activities for the benefit of the city and its citizens. The Diocese itself took upon itself obligation that the location will be accessible to everyone.
On the Sunday of 27th November 2016, on the feast-day of Saint Apostle Philip, a solemn conciliar Liturgy was celebrated in the centre of the Dioceses of Buenos Aires and South-Central America, Cathedral church of the Nativity of the Mother of God, in Buenos Aires.
The Liturgy was officiated by Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral; Metropolitan of Argentina and South America Ignatius (Moscow Patriarchate) as well as by Bishops Jovan of Caracas and South America (Russian Orthodox Church Abroad), Kiril of Dioclea, Deputy Bishop of the Dioceses of Buenos Aires and South-Central America. Concelebrants were also Serbian priests from Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Columbia.
