Metropolitan Amfilohije celebrates in Buenos Aires
His Eminence Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Bishop-Administrator of the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central America of the Serbian Patriarchate, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Saint Sava in Buenos Aires on 29 November 2014.
He was concelebrate by administrator of the Diocese father Stefan Jovanovic, as well as protodeacons Nikola Radish and Igor Balaban. Presbyter BrankoStanisic from the parish of Saint Nicholas in Machagai (province of Chaco) along with believers sang responses during the Holy Liturgy.
The Metropolitan, after he had read the names of all the founders of this church, awarded Mr. Aleksandar Cvibak, perennial president of the Church-school congregation of Saint Sava in Buenos Aires and one of founders of this church, with the Order of Saint Sava of the third degree “for special contribution to the unity of our Church and unselfish care for the church of Saint Sava in Buenos Aires”.
After the holy service, all the present were invited to the agape of love, prepared by the parishioners at the hall of the parish house. During the dinner a film recording of the celebration of the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo in 1989 was shownin one hotel in Buenos Aires.
Parishioners were also informed about a new, second issue of the Diocesan magazine “Holy Apostle James the son of the Alphaeus” which contains sermons of Church Fathers, lives of the Saints, articles and news from our Church and other sister Orthodox Churches.
A bilingual Serbian-Spanish edition of “The Mountain Wreath” was presented, translated into Spanish by Jorje Razmilich from Santiago, Chile. Thanks to kindness of the family of late Mr. Jorje, the Diocese of Buenos Aires received 120 copies of this book.
