Metropolitan Amfilohije receives Cuban ambassador

His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, the locum tenens of the throne of Patriarch of Serbia, has received today, on November 27, 2009 at the court of Serbian Patriarchate Her Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Ms. Mercedes Martínez Valdés .

The high guest at the very beginning of the meeting stressed that felt great gratitude to the warm reception. She recalled the traditional friendly feelings that had connected the two nations through history, and that had some similar moments, as well as the religious feelings which were the main backbone of closeness of these geographically remote peoples.

The Ambassador made His Eminence Metropolitan aware of the most interesting areas of life of their country in which they were trying to preserve as before the existence of free education, free health care, as weel as the great care for the socially vulnerable layers of population, and human dignity which belongs to each nation.

During the talks, a mutual and comprehensive cooperation as well as a continuation and deepening of the decades-long friendly relations was promised, which would be a joy for the Church and for our peoples.
