Metropolitan Amfilohije serves in the monastery of Holy Trinity near Recife in Brazil
His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral kyr Amfilohije, Bishop-administrator of the Diocese of Buenos-Aires and South-Central-American of the Serbian Patriarchate, served on Monday, November 28, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the parish of Holy Trinity in Aldea, which soon is going to become a monastery, near Recife in the state of Pernambuco on the Northeast of Brazil with the concelebration of local priests.
During the Holy Liturgy, Metropolital ordained Rafael de Cairez Santos, the parish priest of this Parish, a protopresbyter-staurophor and awarded him the right to wear a pectoral cross.
Although it was traditionally considered as Roman Catholic, today's Brazilian society is mostly secularized, and at the same time Christian protestan and harismatic pseudo-Christian movements (as Pentecostals and Neo-Pentecostals) attract a large number of people from the Roman Catholic Church.
In late evening hours of the same day, Metropolitan met with Bishop Ambrosio of Recife of the Orthodox Church of Poland, which also has its parish in Recife.
