Metropolitan Hilarion completes his visit to Tallinn

On 30 April 2011, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations, who visited the capital of Estonia with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, met with Metropolitan Stephanos, head of the church organization of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in the country.

They discussed the current situation of Orthodoxy in Estonia and the ways to the solution of the current problems. Taking part in the talk were archpriest Nikolai Balashov, DECR deputy chairman, and S. Mjannik, a member of the Synod of the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. Attending the talk on the part of Metropolitan Stephanos were archpriest Matfei Palli; archdeacon Iustin Kiviloo, archont of the Patriarchate of Constantinople; and T. Ryuitel, managing director of the Estonian Association of Real Estate Companies.

After the meeting, Metropolitan Hilarion and his suite left for Moscow. They were seen off at the airport by Bishop Lazar of Narva, minister-counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Estonia A. Yashkin, and S. Mjannik.
