Metropolitan Hilarion receives the highest distinction of the Royal House of Georgia
The Heir to the throne of Georgia and the head of the oldest Orthodox royal dinasty in the world, His Royal Highness Prince Davit Bagrationi-Moukhraneli Batonshvilli of Georgia bestowed upon His Eminence Metropolitan of East America and New York, the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad and Archbishop of Australia-New Zealand kyr kyr Hilarion, the highest distinction of the eminent dinasty - the Royal order of the Eagle of Georgia.
His Grace Bishop Irinej, as a spiritual patron of the order of the Eagle of Georgia for Oceania, had a pleasure on behalf of His Royal Higness hand over this distinction to His Eminence Hilarion at the vigil service on the Eve of the feast of Sts. Apostles Peter and Paul in Sidney's Cathedral church of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, devoted to Holy Apostles of Peter and Paul in Strathfield.
