Metropolitan Kallistos, Fr. John Behr to speak in Chicago March 5
His Eminence, Metropolitan Kallistos [Ware] of Diokleia will lecture on “The Unchanging Gospel in an Ever-Changing Culture” at North Park University’s Anderson Chapel, Chicago, on Saturday, March 5, 2016.
The program, which will run from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., is the inaugural event in the university’s “Engaging Orthodoxy Speakers’ Series,” which is made possible by a grant from the Kulis Foundation. There is no charge to attend.
Archpriest Dr. John Behr, Dean of Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Yonkers, NY, will offer a response to the lecture, as will Dr. Hauna Ondrey, Teaching Fellow in Church History at North Park Seminary, and Dr. Marcus Plested, Associated Professor of Theology at Milwaukee’s Marquette University. North Park’s Dr. Bradley Nassif, Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies, will moderate the conference sessions.
Metropolitan Kallistos will present an Eastern Orthodox understanding of the Gospel and offer practical guidance on how local churches may keep it clear and central for each generation. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session with Metropolitan Kallistos and other participants during the event.
The entire day’s events will be streamed live on-line at www.northpark.edu/live. On Saturday, March 5, visit this page in any web browser to watch the feed. Live-streaming typically begins five-to-ten minutes prior to the event start.
