Mileseva - witness of past and future times

With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Filaret of Mileseva, with the consent of Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church and His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch in the monastery of Mileseva the First International Scientific Conference The Eight Centuries of Mileseva Monastery is held.

Towards the great anniversary, in the significant sanctity of the Serbian people yesterday the art historians, theologians, archeologists, ethnologists, historians, professors and researchers from Serbia, Russia, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Montenegro. Officially, the conference commenced at 7 a.m. with the Holy Liturgy with the invocation of the Holy Spirit which was served by archimandrite Makarije, the head of the Holy Trinity monastery in Dubnica, archimandrite Nektarije, spiritual father of the monastery of Holy Epiphany in Davidovci, archimandrite Leontije, spiritual father of the monastery of Mileseva and hieromonk Peter from the Seljani monastery.

Archimandite Nektarije, Bishop Filaret of Mileseva and Bishop Dr Irinej of Backa held welcome speeches.

The solemn opening of the scientific conference was attended by His Eminence Bishop Nikolaj of Dabrobosna and His Grace Bishop Pahomije of Vranje.
