Minister of faith and diaspora Srdjan Sreckovic in a first visit to Patriarch Irinej

Today, on March 24th 2011, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received the ministry of faith and diaspora Mr. Srdjan Sreckovic and state secretary Prof. Dr. Bogoljub Sijakovic. This is the first visit to His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch since the establishing the new Ministry by merging two departments. 

Patriarch Irinej on this occasion said that relations with the Ministry of faith and diaspora will take place according to already established way, with a goal that , if possible, be even better and to stay on the good level.   

Minister Sreckovic, announcing that as the new minister for the area, will pursue a policy of affirmation of religious freedom and cooperation with all religious communities, but also the closest cooperation with the Serbian Orthodox Church that in recent decades had a major role in organizing and survival of the Serbian diaspora around the world.

Minister Sreckovic added that he was sure that all religious communities in Serbia, in their own way, could contribute to the country's modernization and further development of society, "and all with the goal that we become a part of international integration to which we strive for as the state. "
