Metropolitan Porfirije on a two-day visit to Athens

His Eminence Metropolitan Dr. Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana visited the Greek Orthodox Church from 27-28 February 2016. On this occasion he participated in the symposium which was organized by the church of Saint Parascheva.

The symposium titled “Love and marriage” was held on 27 February 2016. Besides His Eminence Metropolitan Porfirije, His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkis, retired professor of the University of Athens protopresbyter George Metalinos as well as other eminent lecturers participated in the work of the symposium.

In their lectures the eminent theologians touched themes such as Orthodox prerequisites for performing the Sacrament of marriage, pre-marital relationship, family harmony, wedlock as a life venture, while the theological exposition of Metropolitan Porfirije entitled "Divine Eros and Wedlock" was the last lecture of the symposium.
