Moscow: St. Sava celebrated in the church of Holy Apostles
In the church of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Moscow, the Representation of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the great feast-day of St. Sava, the first Archbishop of the Serbian Church, was officially marked.
His Grace Bishop Antonije of Moravica, Vicar Bishop of Patriarch Irinej, served a vigil on the evening of the feast-day, along with the priests attached to that church. On the very feast-day the Divine Lituregy was headed by His Grace Paisius of Shchygro and Mantura . with concelebration of Antony and a number of priests and hieromonks.
The Liturgy was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Moscow, Prof. Dr. Slavenko Terzic. This year, traditional blessing of the Slava loaf, whose godfather was Milorad Suvajac, a businessman from Moscow, was performed. Some poems in honor of SaintSava were told by the youngest parishioners of the church, as well as by the students of the Orthodox Gymnasium of St. John the Theologian in Moscow. Priest Bojan Popov delivered the festive address on the personality and achievements of the Saint. The bishop of Antonia, the Principal of the representation (Podvorje), addressed the congregation as well.
