The Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God - Slava KSS Akron, OH
Magnificent and prayerful, as it is fitting for the Feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God, the glorious Slava celebration of the Kolo Circle of Serb Sisters was celebrated at the Church of the Holy Martyr St. Demetrius in Akron.
With the blessing of our Archpastor, His Grace Bishop Irinej, and under the spiritual guidance of the Fr. Proto Dragan Goronjic, members of the Kolo Circle of Serbian Sisters, just like every year, as in this year 2019, with all their strength, spiritual and physical, they focused on organizing their Slava.
The Divine Liturgy was served by Father Dragan, and the whole congregation all responded together, the whole Church, as it is supposed to be a living church community like the one in Akron.
According to the Gospel reading, inspired and instructive, Father Dragan spoke of the feast itself and the importance and role of the KSS in the Serbian Church.
Following the Prayer Behind the Ambo, the Slavski Kolac and Wheat were blessed and sanctified.
A magnificent banquet was prepared in the newly renovated church hall for all in attendance, Protojerej Milan Pajic from the Parish of St. Archangel Michael joined the celebration in prayer, love and support.
This celebration especially touched everyone in attendance, because when they came to the Church entrance, they saw great construction work being carried out for the benefit and image of our Church.
It is worthy of pointing out that this work is done with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej which contributes to the spiritual, building restoration and refinement the entire diocese.
This was a truly wonderful day to remember and the comments of all those present spoke of gratitude to Father Dragan who wisely and tirelessly leads this community.
