New Head of the Roman Catholic Church enthroned
The newly elected head of the Roman Catholic Church, His Holiness Pope Francis (lat. Franciscus, ital. Francesco), was enthroned at the Saint Peter's Cathedral.
The solemn ceremony of the enthronement, on behalf of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, was attended by the high delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church led by His Eminence Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral.
His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople represented the Ecumenical Patriarchate at the ceremony of the enthronement of the 266th head of the Roman Catholic Church for the first time since the Great Schism in 1544. The Moscow Patriarchate was represented by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk.
The official delegation of our state was led by President Tomislav Nikolic. The ceremony was attended by more than 150 delegations of States, Churches, religious communities and international organizations from all over the world.
