New Year's Charity Concert

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch attended the New Year's concert, on January 14, 2012 at the National Theatre in Belgrade.

In the concert which is organized traditionally by the Cathedral church at the Great scene of the National theatre participated: academician Matija Beckovic, actor Petar Bozovic, the First Belgrade's Singing Society conducted by Svetlana Vilic, Children's Choir of the First Belgrade Singing Society conducted by Emilija Milin, Children's choir Magic led by Leontina Pat, Nenad Milosavljevic from the group Galija, Grupa 357, vocal solist Katarina Visnjic from New York accompanied by Darko Jokic from Pec (accordion) and Nikola Lukic from Loznica (fife), vocal solists Milica Radic, Marija and Anastasija Vasic, ensable Kolo and actress Biljana Djurovic.

The New Year's concert of the Cathedral church has been held for 16 years, and this year's manifestation was attended by Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Bishop Andrej of Remesiana and vicar of Serbian Patriarch, Vicepresident of the Serbian Government Mr. Ivica Dacic, Their Excellencies: ambassador of the Russian Federation Mr. Alexander Konuzin, ambassador of Greece Mr. Demostenis Stoidis, ambassador of Belorus Mr. Vladimir Chusev and ambassador of teh Republic of Macedonia Mr. Ljubisa Georgijevski; priests of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac, associates of the Orthodox advisory centre, academicians, professors, doctors, cultural and public figures, donators and benefactors of the Cathedral church, as well as many other guests. The direct broadcast was provided by TV Studion B.

This year's concert was devoted to Kosovo and Metohija and the Kosovo vow.

After the concert, the Cathedral Church and the First Belgrade Singing Society organized a solemn dinner at the House of the Serbian Army, celebrating in this way the Patron Saint's Day of the FBSS. The host of the slava was Professor Dr Radmila Milentijevic from New York, the great benefactor of the Cathedral church and the endower of the First Belgrade Singing Society.
