Dr. Christos Yannaras Lectures on What Orthodoxy can Offer America at Chicago Cathedral

Eminent Orthodox Christian theologian, philosopher, and author Professor Dr. Christos Yannaras of Athens, Greece, lectured on the theme: "What Orthodoxy Can Offer American Society," on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago.

His Grace Bishop Dr. Atanasije (Jevtic) to Visit Chicago Cathedral

His Grace retired bishop of Zahum and Hercegovina Dr. Atanasije will visit Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago on Friday, October 29, 2010.

On that occasion, His Grace will deliver a lecture on the theme "FROM REVELATION TO CHURCH: The Truths of the Gospel in the life of the Church and of the Christians in the Church." The lecture will be held in the large hall of the Cathedral beginning at 7:00 PM.

Fr John Behr Lectures in Belgrade: Challenge of Our Past and Examination of Past

Protopresbyter Dr. John Behr, Dean of the Academy of Saint Vladimir from New York, held a lecture today in the great amphiteatre of the Faculty of the Orthodox Theology in Belgrade, an inspired lecture on the subject the Challenge of our past and an examination of the past; in the presence of professors and many students.

At the beginning of the lecture His Grace Bishop Maxim of Western America informed all the present about the life and work of fr. John Behr.

Serbian Patriarch Irinej magnified the celebration of the 200th aniversary of the battle of Loznica

The central celebration of the two centuries since the battle of Loznica, besides representatives of the Republic of Serbia, the National Assembly, the Serbian Army and the diplomatic corps, His Holiness Irinej Serbian Patriarch also magnified who was welcomed in front of the church of Loznica by lots of pious people of this area.

95th ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEFENCE OF BELGRADE 

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served today, in the Memorial ossuary to the defenders of Belgrade in the First World War at the New cemetary, the commemoration for suffered heroes in the defence of the Serbian capital in 1915. After the prayerful remembrance of the ancestors fallen for freedom, the remains of the famous warriors were stored in the restored memorial ossuary with the honorary salvo.
