Celebration of founder's Patron Saint-day of Devic Monastery
17. December 2020 - 13:15Devic Monastery celebrated a founder's slava in honour of Great Saint of the Serbian Orthodox Church and its protector - Saint Joanikije of Devic, on 15 December 2020.
His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of deacons and in prayerful presence of nuns of Devic, Gracanica and Djakovica monasteries.
President Vucic and Minister Lavrov in Saint Sava Cathedral

President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mr. Sergez Lavrov visited the Saint Sava Cathedral in Belgrade and layed flowers on the grave of Serbian Patriarch Irinej of blessed repose on 15 December 2020.
On that occasion, Minister Lavrov read a letter from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, on the occasion of the completion of works on the Saint Sava Cathedral. The Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian people on the completion of the mosaic work in the Saint Sava Cathedral and pointed out that the cooperation between Serbian and Russian masters in that endeavour is a symbol of brotherly friendship and spiritual closeness between the two peoples.
The Feast Day of Saint Mardarije in the monastery of Saint Sava
14. December 2020 - 21:07His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America celebrated the solemn Vesper service in the monastery of Saint Sava in Libertyville on the Eve of the feast day of Saint Mardarije of Libertyville, on 11 December 2020.
The Bishop was concelebrated by hieromonk Serafim (Milojkovic) and priest Nikolaj Kostur, while students of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Saint Sava sang responses. On the feast day, 12 December 2020, Bishop Longin (Krco) officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Archimandrite Toma (Kazic), priest Aleksandar Petrovic, Nikolaj Kostur and Milos Zivkovic, as well as deacon Jovan Anicic.
Bishop Stefan celebrated the Holy Liturgy and the commemoration at the tomb of Patriarch Irinej in the crypt of Saint Sava Cathedral
14. December 2020 - 20:39His Grace Bishop Stefan of Remesiana celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the crypt of the Saint Sava Cathedral in the Vracar district on 13 December 2020, on the feast day of Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called.
The Bishop was concelebrated by the clergy of this church. During the Holy Liturgy Bishop Stefan prayed the God for the souls of Patriarch Irinej, Metropolitan Amfilohije and Bishop Milutin of blessed repose. Following the Holy Liturgy His Grace Bishop served a commemoration for the Patriarch of blessed repose and Our Father Irinej.

11. December 2020 - 11:10His Holiness Patriarch Irinej (Gavrilovic) of Serbia was born in the village of Vidova, near town of Cacak, Serbia, on 28 August, 1930. His baptismal name was Miroslav. He finished elementary school in his village, and later on high school in Cacak. Thereupon he enrolled and completed Theological Seminary in Prizren, Kosovo and Metohia, and graduated at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade. Upon graduation, he did his army service for a year and a half. The Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church appointed him a professor of the Prizren Theological Seminary, but before assuming this assignment he was tonsured by the late Serbian Patriarch Herman (German) and got the monastic name Irinej, at the Rakovica monastery near Belgrade in October 1959.

And we are witnesses that the life of Metropolitan Amfilohije is similar to the life of the Apostle Paul, who before his departure lived and suffered with the faithful and taught them in order to prepare them for his departure, always knowing that for the one who lives in Christ and by Christ, departure (death) in fact is gain.
