Order of Saint Sava to President of the Municipality of Vozdovac

On the day when the Church of God celebrates the feast-day of the Nativity of the Holy Prophet, Forerunner and the Baptist of the Lord, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Lipljan, Vicar Bishop to the Serbian Patriarch, celebrated Hierarchal Liturgy in a church dedicated to this saint at the Central cemetery in Belgrade.

Protopresbyter-stavrophor Branko Topalovic, protopresbyter-stavrophor Professor Dr. Radomir Popovic, archpriest Sreten Lukic and many other priests concelebrated to the Bishop. Students of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology sang responses.

With the blessing of His Holiness, Bishop Jovan awarded the president of the City Municipality of Vozdovac and eminent pediatric surgeon Dr. Dragan Vukanic with the highest distinction of our Church – the Order of Saint Sava. Dr. Vukanic received this award for his humanitarian work and a great energy and interests which go beyond his profession.
