Order of St. Sava presented to Alexander Konuzin, ambassador of the Russian Federation
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch presented today at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade to His Excellency Alexander Vasilyevich Konuzin, the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Serbia, the Order of Saint Sava of the First Degree.
The highest distinction of our holy Church was presented to Mr.Konuzin in the presence of the members of Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church Their Graces Bishops: Vasilije of Srem, Irinej of Backa, Jovan of Sumadija; His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral; vicar Bishops: Atanasije of Hvosno and Jovan of Lipljan; archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev, head of the Representation of the Moscow Patriarchate in Belgrade; representatives of the political and public life of the Serbian capital.
In the decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops it is said that the Order of Saint Sava was presented to Ambassador Konuzin for his active love towards the Serbian Orthodox Church, especially showed particularly shown in his courageous and persistent efforts for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
