The Ecumenical Patriarchate ‘Satisfied’ with the St. Andrew’s Church in Kiev?

On October 18, Ukrainian Parliament approved the handover of St. Andrew’s Church in Kiev to the Ecumenical Patriarchate. During the second hearing, 237 deputies voted for the bill (first, 216 deputies gave their votes). The project was personally initiated by President Poroshenko. It is reported that Parliament obliged the Cabinet to complete the handover in one month since the bill is adopted.
St Andrew’s Church was constructed between 1747 and 1754, to a design by the Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli, and is rightfully considered one of Ukraine’s most beautiful religious structures.
A church dedicated to St Paisios to be built in Australia

The foundation stone for the first Greek Orthodox church dedicated to St Paisios the Athonite in Australia was laid in Perth on October 26 with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, by His Grace Bishop Nikandros of Dorylaeon.
Polish Church to celebrate 100th anniversary of Polish independence

The office of the Holy Synod of the Polish Orthodox Church has announced that it will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Poland’s regaining of independence with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.
The central event will be held on Sunday, October 28 at the Cathedral of St. Mary Magdalene in Warsaw, with the Divine Liturgy to be celebrated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland with the concelebration of the bishops of the Polish Holy Synod.
Memorial cross torn down in Lesvos has been replaced

A memorial cross on the Greek island of Lesvos has been re-erected after it was torn down two weeks ago.
The cross was originally erected on the shore of Apelli, under the castle of Mytilene in Lesvos in early September in honor of the people who have died swimming there. It was soon pulled down by a co-existence group that claimed the cross is offensive to non-Christian migrants.

His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All East and His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, visited the Zicha monastery on 15 October 2018.
On the memory day of Saint Dionysius the Areopagite, the monastery of Zica (dedicated to the Ascension of the Lord) had a great honor and joy to welcome Patriarch John X of Antioch and All East and Serbian Patriarch Irinej. A great gathering of people, clergy and monastics along with His Grace Bishop Diocesan Bishop Justin of Zica welcomed the high Church dignitaries on this historical day. They also witnessed to a traditional Serbian hospitality.
