A sculpture depicting the late Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church and the late First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia holding the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign" will be unveiled in the monastery of the Nativity of the Most-Holy Mother of God, “Kursk Hermitage,” as reported by Kurskaya Pravda. The new monument expressed the main idea of the historic event which brought to an end the tragic period of division within the Russian Church in the 20 th century, the signing of the Act of Canonical Communion, which took place in Moscow on May 17, 2007.

On Friday, September 11, 2015, the Board of Trustees and Faculty of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary will bestow a Doctor of Divinity degree, honoris causa, upon His Holiness Irinej (Gavrilovic), archbishop of Peć, metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovci, and patriarch of Serbia. Patriarch Irinej will also deliver a presentation titled "Theology as a Hope for the Future of the Church."
The patriarch will arrive on the seminary campus, briefly visit Three Hierarchs Chapel, and then proceed to the Academic Convocation. The public ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. in the Metropolitan Philip Auditorium of the John G. Rangos Family Building, and will include a Q & A session between the patriarch and attendees. An open reception will follow.
His Holiness Irinej, the 45th Patriarch of Serbia, was enthroned in his position on January 2010. His Holiness was ordained as a Hieromonk in 1959, and was both a professor and rector of Prizren Seminary. He also served as Bishop of Moravica and Nis prior to his election as patriarch.

On September 8, 2015, the Feast of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, a very special event took place in the life of our diocese.
His Holiness Irinej Patriarch of Serbia visited our Diocesan Cathedral of the Mother of God dedicated to Her Icon “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in the company of many Serbian Orthodox bishops, clergy, seminarians from the theological seminary in Prezren and others.

What is most amazing about the World Trade Center, 14 years after the terrorist attack, is that it is steadily growing less amazing.
With the removal last year of fences around the National September 11 Memorial, the opening this summer of Greenwich Street to foot traffic and the arrival of office tenants at Tower 1 and Tower 4, the site feels as if it is being knitted back into the fabric of Lower Manhattan. Japanese believers to convey particles of St. Nicholas of Japan relics to Russian churches

Moscow, September 8, Interfax - Delegation of the Sendai Diocese of the Japanese Autonomous Orthodox Church will visit the Primorye Territory on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of St. Nicholas of Japan canonization.
"As expected, a delegation headed by Archbishop Seraphim of Senday will visit Primorye from September 10 to September 15, and bring particles of St. Nicholas relics for churches," the Vladivostok Diocese told Interfax-Religion on Tuesday.
Exhibition The Christian in the country of samurais dedicated to St. Nicholas of Japan will open in Vladivostok on Friday. The exposition prepared by the Metropolia and the Primorye State Museum will tell about St. Nicholas' life and work and establishing of Orthodoxy in Japan.
