According to Romfea.gr, on Sunday 24 May 2015 the door-opening ceremony for a sacred chapel dedicated to St. John Maximovitch, who was the Bishop of Shanghai and later Archbishop of San Francisco of the Russian Church Abroad and reposed in 1966, took place in the Church of Saint Anna in Katerini.

China, the first time in more than half a century allowed a Chinese Orthodox priest to be ordained. Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations (DECR) of the Moscow Patriarchate informed TASS correspondent on Sunday about this event.
