Hundreds of faithful were present at the Divine Liturgy officiated Tuesday, 27 September 2016, in Bucharest, on the feast of Hieromartyr Saint Anthimos the Ivirite. His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and all East, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, and Metropolitan John of Rustavi, representative of the Patriarch of Georgia, concelebrated.

Metropolitan Pavel: Belarusian Orthodox Church is a reliable foothold for the state

The Belarusian Orthodox Church is not a rival of the state but a reliable and constructive foothold for it, Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus said at the meeting of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko with the Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church on 22 September, BelTA has learned.

“I want all people of the republic to understand that the Belarusian Orthodox Church is not a rival of the state but a secure and constructive foothold for the state and society,” the Metropolitan said.

In his words, the Church is focused on creation. Priests ask God to protect peace, accord, and tranquility in the country so that people could live and work peacefully.

On 21st September 2016, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, received at the Patriarchal See the visit of Hs Excellency the Ambassador of Israel to Egypt Mr. David Govrin with his staff, as part of his visit to the city of Alexandria.

Russian chapel consecrated at Syrian airbase

The St. George chapel was consecrated with Patriarch Kirill's blessing at the Khmeimim Syrian airbase where Russian air forces are based, the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church reported on Thursday.

Saint George Kolo Slava Celebration

The St. George Kolo, the Circle of Serbian Sisters, works throughout the year to benefit the parish. Every Sunday the Kolo hosts a coffee hour for parishioners and visitors in attendance.

The Kolo prepares meals for the festal programs during the year including St.Sava Day, Vidovdan, Healthcare Day and the Kolo Slava. The Kolo makes rolls throughout the year as a means of fundraising.

On 18 September 2016, the 13th Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, who had arrived in Italy to take part in the 14th session of the Orthodox-Catholic dialogue upon the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and in compliance with the decision of the Holy Synod, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Moscow Patriarchate’s Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Pescara. Concelebrating with Metropolitan Hilarion were archpriest Vyacheslav Safonov, rector of the church, and priest Alexy Dikarev, DECR staff member. Among those praying at the service were numerous faithful of the Russian Orthodox Church from Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and other countries, who are living in and near Pescara.
