“Mwebwe mwese ababatijwe muri Kristo, mwambaye Kristo, Aleluya”.

Through the blessing of His Beatitude Theodoros II, the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa; and through the prayers of Orthodox faithfuls worldwide, on 11th September 2016, 118 people have been baptized in Rwanda.

On 3-7 September 2016, within the framework of the Year of Religious Education of the Christian Orthodox Youth, declared by the Romanian Orthodox Church, a theological congress was held in Bucharest.

Archbishop Feofan of Berlin and Germany meets with President of German Catholic Bishops’ Conference Cardinal Reinhard Marx

On September 7, 2016, Archbishop Feofan of Berlin and Germany met with the President of the German Bishops’ Conference Cardinal Reinhard Marx, Archbishop of Munich and Freising, in Munich.

They discussed the results of the meeting between Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and Pope Francis, which took place on February 12, 2016, in Havana, and underscored the need for close cooperation and development of contacts between the Diocese of Berlin and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference. Archbishop Feofan spoke about the present state of the dialogue between the German Bishops’ Conference and the Russian Orthodox Church, which has been maintained for several years as joint theological conversations. The latest talks, which are co-chaired by His Eminence Feofan, took place in June 2016 in St. Petersburg.

On 7th September 2016, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, together with the other Primates of the Churches of the Middle East, was welcomed at the Palace of the Hashemite Kingdom in Amman, Jordan, by the King of Jordan His Majesty Abdellah Ben Al.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew: New Martyrs of Jasenovac are heroes and saints of the entire Orthodoxy

Be under the shade of Serbian martyrs, that tree of blessed Serbs, Ecumenical Patriarch said and called upon Orthodox Serbs to follow the path of their forefathers, heroes and saints. Only in this way, he said, you are about to receive the wreath of glory that is borne by numerous victims of Jasenovac of the Nazi totalitarism from the Second World War many times. Patriarch Bartholomew called upon the faithful never to forget their martyrs, who cannot be a cause for revenge but for peace.

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch was welcomed by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, His Eminence Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Their Graces Bishops: Irinej of Backa and Jovan of Slavonia, and  the Ambassador of the Republic of Greece to Zagreb Mrs. Eleni Gerokostopoulou at the runway of the Zagreb airport.
