Patriarchal Divine Liturgy in Casablanca and Doxology for National Regeneration

On the 4th Sunday of Great Lent, the feast of St John of the Ladder, a Patriarchal Divine Liturgy was conducted at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Casablanca by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa,  together with the local Metropolitan Alexios of Carthage, the Mega Ecclesiarch of the Throne, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Theodoros Dridakis and the Parish Priests of Casablanca and Rabat Fr. Ioannis Gatzioras and Fr. Maximos Massalatin.  The choirs  were attended also by the Very reverend Archimandrite Alexios Petrides, the visiting Dean of the Holy Church of the transfiguration in Halandri as well as many Romanian faithful who sang the hymns and parts of the Liturgy.

Moscow Patriarchate’s representative takes part in the meeting of European Parliament’s leaders with religious leaders of Europe

On 24 March 2015, MEPs met with religious community leaders of Europe in Brussels. The topic of their meeting was ‘The rise of religious radicalism and fundamentalism and the role of inter-religious dialogue in the promotion of tolerance and respect for human dignity.’

The participants discussed various aspects of the problem of religious radicalism, certain elements of the European policy against radicalization, and the system of international monitoring and timely warning of religious communities against possible threats.

Patriarch of Alexandria in the Moroccan capital, Rabat

On Monday 23 March 2015, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa continued his pastoral visit to Morocco in the capital, Rabat. IN the morning, together with his entourage, he visited the Mohamed V Mausoleum, where he laid a wreath of honour, as is custom, on the tombs of the Kings Mohamed V and Hasan II.

First pastoral visit of Patriarch of Alexandria to Royal Morocco

On Saturday 21st march 2015, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa arrived in Morocco for his first pastoral visit,   accompanied by the Very Reverend Archimandrite Theodoros Dridakis, Mega Ecclesiarch of the Throne. At the “Mohamed V” airport in Casablanca, His Beatitude was officially welcomed by the local Metropolitan Alexios of Carthage, their Excellencies the Ambassadors of Greece Mr. Platon Alexios Hatzimihalis and of Egypt Mr. Ahmed Gamal el Din, Attachés of the Greek Embassy in Rabat, the Chairman of the Hellenic Community in Morocco Mr. Ioannis Pistikos and the Clergy.

Metropolitan Filaret awarded St. Alexis Order First Class

Metropolitan Filaret, the Honorary Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, was awarded the Order of St. Alexis, the Metropolitan of Moscow, First Class, of the Russian Orthodox Church.

On behalf of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill the order was presented to the Honorary Exarch by Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Zaslavl during the gala evening on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Metropolitan Filaret.
