On Thursday the 14th/27th June 2013, the feast of Prophet Eliseus was celebrated by the Patriarchate in Jericho, at the Church dedicated to St Eliseus the Prophet. The existence here of this holy church in the name of St Eliseus is explained by the fact that he, hailing from the town of Meouli in the region of the valley of the river Jordan, was active in the city of Jericho, too. One of the many miracles he had performed in divine power and fortification, was the transformation of the waters of a living spring in Jericho from bitter and deadly to sweet, drinkable and wholesome, to this very day.

The Feast of the Pentecost at the Patriarchate of Alexandria

On the Sunday of Pentecost, 23rdJune 2013, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa,officiated at Orthros, and conducted the Divine Liturgy and the Vespers of Kneeling at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Nicholas in Cairo, together with the new Bishop Leonid of Argentina and South America of the Russian Church, who till recently was Exarch of the Moscow Patriarchate in Cairo), as well as with His Grace Nikodimos Bishop of Nitria Patriarchal Vicar of Cairo and Niphon of Babylonia, Hegumen of the Holy Monastery of St George in Old Cairo.

Pan Orthodox Mission Conference in Wellington, New Zealand

A truly meaningful event that took place this past weekend at the Christ the Saviour Russian Orthodox Church in Wellington.  Father Alexander Skorik was our wonderful and gracious host. We began the day with Divine Liturgy honouring both the Holy Apostles (New Style) and the Saint Tikhon of Cyprus (Old Style).

On Saturday, June 29, 2013, in accordance with the tradition of exchanging formal visitations with the Roman Catholic Church, a delegation from the Ecumenical Patriarchate attended the Patronal Feast of Saints Peter and Paul in Rome. His Eminence Metropolitan John of Pergamon, who led the delegation, conveyed the fraternal greeting of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Pope Francis. Also in the delegation were Bishop Athenagoras of Sinope from Belgium and Archimandrite Prodromos Xenakis from Crete.

Parliamentaries from 30 countries take part in the prayer service on the site where Paul the Apostle preached in Athens

His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronimos II of Athens and All Greece has headed a prayer service dedicated to the feast of St. Paul the Apostle (according to the Gregorian calendar) on Holy Pnyx hill in front of the Acropolis of Athens. Present were representatives of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy. The Holy Apostles Peter and Paul are commemorated in the Church of Greece on June 30.

All Saints' church consecrated at the Plesetsk Spaceport

The Church of All Saints has been consecrated on grounds of the Russian spaceport (cosmodrome) of Plesetsk in the Arkhangelsk region. With the blessing of Metropolitan Daniel of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogory, the consecration of the Church was performed by the Dean of the Mirninsk district, Archpriest ArtemyEnke, reports the website of the Diocese of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogory.

The Church's foundation stone was placed on July 23, 2011. In less than two years, using funds from the officer personnel and the unit veterans, the Church was built, the cross erected, and the interior adorned.
