His Grace Bishop Andrej of Remesiana, with the blessing of His Holiness Irinej Serbian Patriarch and with the decision of the Holy Assembly of Bishops, there is a representative of our Local Serbian Orthodox Church in Veria at the Interorthodox Convention, held on the occasion of St. Paul's Day, the slava of the town of Veria, one of the oldest Christian towns in which Holy Apostle Paul preached and founded one of the first Christian eucharistic Congregations.

On June 27, 2012, the delegation of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations (DECR), while on a visit to Romania with the blessing of the DECR chairman Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk and on the invitation of the Patriarchate of Romania, was received in audience by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, at his residence in Bucharest.

On 24 June 2012, the day when the Orthodox faithful in China commemorate two hundred and twenty Chinese martyrs who had suffered for Christ in 1900, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God in Harbin. Metropolitan Hilarion was in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on official visit with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and at the invitation of the PRC State Administration for Religious Affairs.

On 16 June 2012, the first-ever Orthodox liturgy was celebrated in Pinar del Rio, the Cuba’s westernmost province. Rev. Dimitry Orekhov, rector of the Church of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God in Havana, officiated, website of the parish reports.

Compatriots living in Pinar del Rio, parishioners, and staff of the Russian Embassy attended the Liturgy. The choir of the parish in Havana sang.

Metropolitan Hilarion gives free copies of Holy Scriptures to regiments and prisons

On June 17, 2012, DECR Chairman Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, after the Divine Liturgy celebrated at the church of Our Lady the Joy of All the Afflicted in Moscow, conveyed 20 thousand copies of Holy Scriptures for free distribution to military units and penitentiaries. The copies were printed with the support of the St Gregory the Theologian Charity. Present at the ceremony were Bishop Irinarch of Krasnogorsk, chairman of the Synodal Department for Prison Service, Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov, chairman of the Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement, and Archpriest Vladimir Silovyev, editor-in-chief of the Moscow Patriarchate Publishers.
