Orthodox Easter 2016 Celebrated in Seychelles

With the blessing of Archbishop of Irinoupolis (Tanzania ans Seychelles), H.E. Metropolitan Dimitrios, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by protopresbyter-Stavrophor Sergios (Janosevic) of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa.

The Holy Service was attended by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Seychelles, Mr.Vladimir Belousov, Honorary Consul for Greece in Seychelles, Mr.Tasos Pantazopoulos, Honorary Consul of Seychelles for Bulgaria, Vik Behar, as well as very large number of faithful from Seychelles, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia.

This year we shared our Joy of Resurrection with special publication - the first Orthodox Liturgy in Creole language.

Father Sergios, Genaral Vicar of H.E. Archbishop Dimitrios, in an inspired speech said that this edition is very important for our Orthodox Mission in Seychelles.

"As you know we have many nations in our church and our Orthodox Church loves many peoples and speaks many languages. This Creole version is for the Seychellois people who wish to learn about the Orthodox Faith" Sergios father said.

The Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom and the Creole language was published for our Orthodox Mission in Seychelles by Orthodox Missionary Center "Fr. Daniel Sysoyev", which is part of Missionary Department of The Holy Synod of Serbian Orthodox Church.

Special thanks goes to brother Stanoje Stankovic who is in charge of the Center and thanks to his relentless efforts we have this publication.

Following the Liturgy, the faithful and our guests shared and enjoyed Easter Eggs Table of Love (Agape), with dishes from various countries, and enjoyed friendship and a lively celebration at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Hotel.
